Rebellion is nigh in Matilda JR., a gleefully witty ode to the the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination! This story of a girl who dreams of a better life and the children she inspires will have audiences rooting for the "revolting children" who are out to teach the grown-ups a lesso

PLEASE READ ALL OF THE INFORMATION ON THIS PAGE BEFORE REGISTERING

This fall, we are adding two weeks onto our rehearsal schedule to give more time for our actors to learn and process their material. We will also be moving to Harper’s larger theater space - The Performing Arts Center!

Because of the longer rehearsal time and increased rent at our rehearsal and performance spaces, we have had to raise our tuition. Sibling discounts, payment plans, and scholarships are available. Please email us at settingthestage1996@gmail.com to arrange.

Rehearsals take place at First United Methodist Church of Arlington Heights- 1903 E. Euclid Ave.

Run through, dress rehearsal, and the performance take place at Harper College Performing Arts Center -1200 W Algonquin Rd, Palatine, IL 60067.

PARENTS AND ACTORS: When you register for a session, you are making a commitment to your entire cast, which is just like a team. Missing rehearsal is detrimental not only to the actor missing, but also to all of their cast mates. If you will be missing more than one rehearsal during the course of a show, it will be difficult to catch up on material. Attendance is mandatory for dress rehearsal and performance.

On our first day of rehearsal we will hold auditions. Each actor will have a role no matter what, but auditions are an opportunity for the actors to learn about the audition process and for the directors to get to know the them better. Audition packets will be emailed about a week before rehearsal begins.

Payment can be made through PayPal or by credit card.  We accept VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS, and DISCOVER.

Cancellation Policy: A $50 non-refundable deposit is included in the tuition.  Workshop tuition is refundable (minus the $50 deposit) ONLY IF YOUR SPOT CAN BE FILLED FROM THE WAITLIST up to TWO WEEKS before the workshop begins.  You may also opt to get a full credit towards a future production up until the day the session begins.  This credit expires one year after issued.
TUITION IS NON-REFUNDABLE ONCE THE SESSION HAS BEGUN.

Tuition price does not include tickets for the performance. Details on ticketing will be sent out once rehearsals have begun.

When Setting the Stage was founded, we had a slogan: "You won't see one star here, you'll see a galaxy!" The directors created the program to give opportunities to many young actors, not just the few who landed a major role.

Because of this, you may notice in our show that some roles are divided into multiple parts. This gives more actors the opportunity to play these parts-- and it prevents one actor from having to learn several hundred lines!

We do realize that this is probably confusing for the audience-- and for any actors who are new to our program. Please understand, this is our way of giving an opportunity to many shining stars, instead of just a few!
