Beauty is in the eye of the ogre in Shrek The Musical JR., based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and fantastic Broadway musical. It's a "big bright beautiful world" as everyone's favorite ogre, Shrek, leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. Shrek JR. is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family.

For this session, actors will send in video auditions to allow for more time in rehearsals to learn the material. Audition material will be sent out a few weeks before rehearsals begin
We are beginning our session with a parent meeting so you can meet the directors, learn what to expect from the session, and how you can help your actor along the way. While parents are in the meeting, actors will be in an audition workshop to learn the vocals and acting sections of their audition packet. If you cannot come to your cast’s meeting time, please reach out to us and we can arrange to have you attend another cast time.
When you register for a session, you are making a commitment to your entire cast, which is just like a team. Missing rehearsal is detrimental not only to the actor missing, but also to all of their cast mates. If you will be missing more than one rehearsal during the course of a show, it may be difficult to catch up on material. Attendance is mandatory for run through, dress rehearsal and, performance.
Cancellation Policy: A $50 non-refundable deposit is included in the tuition. Workshop tuition is refundable (minus the $50 deposit) ONLY IF YOUR SPOT CAN BE FILLED FROM THE WAITLIST up to TWO WEEKS before the workshop begins. You may also opt to get a full credit towards a future production up until THE DAY BEFORE the session begins. This credit expires one year after issued.
TUITION IS NON-REFUNDABLE ONCE THE SESSION HAS BEGUN.
Tuition price does not include tickets for the performance. Details on ticketing will be sent out once rehearsals have begun.
When Setting the Stage was founded, we had a slogan: "You won't see one star here, you'll see a galaxy!" The directors created the program to give opportunities to many young actors, not just the few who landed a major role.
Because of this, you may notice in our show that some roles are divided into multiple parts. This gives more actors the opportunity to play these parts-- and it prevents one actor from having to learn several hundred lines!
We do realize that this is probably confusing for the audience-- and for any actors who are new to our program. Please understand, this is our way of giving an opportunity to many shining stars, instead of just a few!
